Personal Clothing System (PCS) — this is the British individual uniform kit system, analogous to the American multi-layer system "ECWCS". PCS was created to replace the previous generation Combat Soldier 95 (CS95) uniform set, introducing a number of improvements:

• Modern materials that made it possible to maximize body heat retention with reduced material weight.
• Improved temperature control and its regulation through the use of new materials and technologies.
• Better and more convenient use of clothing together with body armor
• Faster access through partial elimination of buttons.
• Better and more compact storage of outer clothing using integrated bags.

Infrared Reflective Remission (IRR) — technology to reduce the visual background of the user so that it resembles the environment when viewed through night vision cameras. IRR technology works by creating visual disturbances caused by multi-layer infrared reflections for each color in the image that has a specific reflection wavelength to blend with colors in the infrared spectrum. As a result, the visibility of the user at night is significantly reduced through reflective properties that mimic the same wavelength as snow, stone, various urban buildings, trees, and other green vegetation.

Insect repellent — protection from insects. The fabric of this clothing has been treated with permethrin, a substance that repels insects. The treatment is resistant to washing and lasts for 50 machine washes. If you normally wash this clothing once a week in a washing machine, the treatment will last 1 year. If you regularly hand wash the clothing, the treatment will last approximately 6 months. The treatment is effective on the clothing, but for complete protection you should also apply insect repellent to bare skin.
