Thermal Trousers PCS

Latest-issue British Army thermal trousers, Thermal Softie Trousers (PCS). Designed for additional insulation in cold weather, worn over other clothing and serving as the outer thermal insulation layer in extremely cold conditions. Lightweight, pack compactly into their own pocket. A fine Ripstop grid is visible on the surface.

These trousers were issued to replace the previous generation of Thermal Reversible Softie Trousers from the CS95 individual clothing system. Made of olive-coloured nylon to match other new-generation garments such as jackets, T-shirts, fleece tops, ubacs, etc.

The trousers are insulated with the special low-bulk Softie Premier insulation. Softie Premier is a proprietary synthetic insulation — very light, warm, the fibres do not crush or clump, and it dries very quickly.

The outer material, Paratex Lite, is an extremely dense yet lightweight, windproof, hydrophobic nylon fabric capable of protecting you from moisture for a long time while remaining highly breathable and wicking moisture away from the body. Paratex Lite fibres are 10 times thinner than a human hair, and the space between them allows moisture to evaporate faster while keeping body temperature stable.

• Elastic waistband
• Side openings for access to the pockets of the main trousers
• A full-size pocket with a protective Velcro flap at the rear. The pocket turns inside out to form a stuff sack for packing the trousers.
• The leg hems are adjustable for width with Velcro
• Zips with two-way sliders are sewn into the sides (so-called quick-release trousers — can be put on or taken off without removing your boots).
