Original UBACS EP "MTP 23" under body armour shirt — the latest modification issued to the British Armed Forces. Hybrid construction with an olive torso in moisture-wicking Coolmax-type polyester and durable sleeves in MTP camouflage with IRR treatment (infrared reflective reduction of visibility). The EP (Enhanced Protection) version features a reinforced collar and a close-fitting tactical cut for wear under a plate carrier.

The UBACS (Under Body Armour Combat Shirt) is a standard-issue element of British Army field uniform, designed specifically for wear directly under body armour, a plate carrier or a load-bearing system. This is the latest MTP 23 version — an updated model currently in service with the British Armed Forces.
The construction follows a hybrid principle: the central section (chest, back, sides, underarm area) is made of olive moisture-wicking Coolmax-type polyester. This fabric effectively wicks sweat away from the body and stays dry even under tightly cinched armour in heat and under physical load. The sleeves and shoulders are made of durable cotton-polyester material in MTP (Multi-Terrain Pattern) camouflage, with IRR (Infrared Reflective) treatment to reduce visibility to night vision devices and thermal imagers within a certain range.

The EP (Enhanced / Extra Protection) version features a reinforced stand-up collar that better protects the neck from chafing by plate carrier straps. The 1/4 zip at the front allows quick temperature regulation without removing gear. The cuffs are button-adjustable — the sleeves can be rolled up in hot weather. Each sleeve has a velcro-closure pocket for small kit or chevrons.
The close-fitting tactical cut ensures a minimum of excess fabric under armour: no chafing folds or "bubbles" under the plate carrier.
