Part of the British Army Modular Combat Sleeping System, the Light Weight compression sack. Made of durable nylon with a polyurethane coating on the inside, it is very reliable for storing gear. Fitted with compression straps in all directions, which help reduce the volume of the sack's contents for convenient transport.

The British Modular Combat Sleeping System consists of three parts:
- Light Weight sleeping bag – a summer sleeping bag (from +2° C), the front part of the bag is fitted with a mosquito net that can be tucked away when not needed. The inside of the sleeping bag has pockets. The zip is protected by an internal thermal insulation baffle.
- Medium Weight sleeping bag – a mid-season sleeping bag. The inside of the sleeping bag is protected by an internal thermal insulation baffle. A liner sheet can be attached inside.
- Liner sheet – Fitted with straps for attaching to the Medium Weight sleeping bag. Closes with a zip.
The Light Weight and Medium Weight sleeping bags can be used either separately or together, forming a 4-season sleeping system. Combined, the above sleeping bags are rated for a comfort temperature of -25° C and a minimum temperature of -32° C in extreme conditions.
