British trousers size guide: how to choose your size
British Combat Trousers PCS MTP use their own sizing system, which differs from the usual Ukrainian one. The table below shows how British sizes correspond to Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and NATO sizes, as well as to your measurements in centimetres. Below, we explain how to read the sizing code and choose trousers that fit your body precisely.
How to read British trouser sizing
The label on British trousers shows a three-number code — for example, 70/68/84. According to the size chart, these correspond to:
- 70 — inside leg (inseam) length, cm;
- 68 — waist (waistband) circumference, cm;
- 84 — hip circumference, cm.
Focus first on your waist measurement and leg length — in the British cut the hips are made with extra room and have the least effect on which size you choose.
How to measure correctly
Use a flexible tape measure and take measurements against your body, not over clothing. Measure your waist along the beltline, and the leg length from the crotch down the inside seam to the length you want. Don't size up "to grow into": the allowance for base layers is already built into the cut, and the cuffs, waistband, and drawcords let you adjust the trousers to fit. If you're unsure between two sizes, go by your waist measurement.
